Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be endured. If anything here is unclear, email support@shephouse.com and ask.
Who we are
ShepHouse is a one-person software studio operating as ShepHouse LLC, a California limited liability company based in Oakdale, California. We build websites and business software for small businesses.

What we collect
When you use the contact form, we receive what you type into it: your name, your email address, the subject you select, and your message. The only hidden field is a spam trap; anything a bot types into it is discarded, never read or stored.
When you visit any page, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information — your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. This happens on essentially every website on the internet and is used to serve pages and block abuse.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. We do not build a profile of you. We do not know who you are unless you tell us.
Why we collect it
For one reason: to answer you.
If you send an inquiry, we use your email address to reply, and your message to understand what you need. If that turns into a working relationship, we keep the correspondence as an ordinary business record.
We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not send marketing you did not ask for.
Who else sees it
Three companies handle your information because they operate parts of this business:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and server logs: serves the website and protects it from attacks.
- Resend — contact form delivery: transmits your form submission to our inbox.
- Proton — email storage: our email provider, where your message is read and stored.
Each of them handles your data only to provide that service to us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for money or for anything else of value. We never have and we do not intend to.
We would disclose information only if legally required to — a valid court order, subpoena, or equivalent legal obligation.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept as long as they are useful for the business relationship, then deleted.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we are legally required to keep it — tax records and signed contracts being the usual exceptions.
Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on their own schedule and are not something we control directly.
Your rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information a business has collected about you, to request that it be deleted, to request that it be corrected, and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights.
We extend these rights to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where you live, because drawing a line based on geography would be a strange way to treat people.
To exercise any of them, email support@shephouse.com. We will respond within 45 days. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult.
Security
Your message travels to us over an encrypted connection and is stored in an end-to-end encrypted mailbox. Access is limited to the owner of the business — there is no staff, no shared inbox, and no third-party support desk reading your mail.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. What we can say is that we collect very little, so there is very little to lose.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email support@shephouse.com and we will delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address. We will not make changes quietly and backdate them.
